The New Hermetics

One recent book on spiritual technology is Jason Augustus Newcomb's The New Hermetics. It teaches Hermetics in a way that it fits in the 21st century. It's Hermetics with a lot of edge. Although a lot of traditional occultists would cringe at such a book, The New Hermetics has greatly helped me in many ways. If you're an adept (be it a beginner or a veteran), I strongly suggest this title.

Chaos Magic in Wikipedia

I don't know why but I just love this entry on chaos magic in wikipedia.

Slacker Magick Training

Last week, I've decided to take a 1 month sabbatical from making comics so I can focus on my magick. Right now, I am truly reaping the benefits. My new methods of magickal training is odd but I think it's effective. All I do is lie in bed, daydream (which is really a mild and effective form of creative visualization) and accumulate as much vital force as possible. I feel more empowered yet relaxed from my magical practices. Even my third eye greatly benefited from my training thanks to an experiment I'm conducting. All I do is rub a menthol ointment on my forehead in order to stimulate my third eye. Not only it improves my psychism, it also have a soothing effect on my mind due to the cool, soothing effect of the ointment.

Anyway, got to sleep. I have another big day for me tomorrow.

Bling-Bling The Magical Flying Green Pig

Lo and behold, His Magical Pigginess!

Entity's name: Bling-Bling

Nicknames/Aliases/Titles: Bling, His Magical Pigginess, Money Pig and The Magical Flying Green Pig

Creator: Achreus The Slacker Mage

Description: a flying, winged, magical green little pig with a golden chain around his neck, has a voice of a midget and speaks in English with a Mexican accent.

Personality: Generous, gallant, funny, vain and slightly perverted yet still adorable. Highly favors good-natured slackers.

Likes: food, beer, sexy girls and most of all money.

Dislikes: ungrateful people who doesn't thank him.

Function: He gives money to anyone in mysterious, surprising ways.

Origin: Disillusioned with the hard work formula to success, Achreus the Slacker Mage decided to create a magical entity dedicated to giving money. Thus Bling-Bling the Magical Flying Green Pig was born. His Magical Pigginess's task is to bring prosperity, abundance and of course money to everyone, slackers and non-slackers.

To summon him:

1) Bling loves beer. Mentally or vocally toast an alcoholic beverage to Bling. The toast: "I toast this beer to Bling-Bling the magical flying green pig!" When you hear a squeal or see a vision of a flying green pig wearing a golden chain then you're successful. Ask him to bring you the exact amount of money you need and when you need it.

2) Bling digs hot women. Just put a picture of a sexy babe in front of a piggy bank (if you're lucky, get a green piggy bank although any color will do just fine as long as it's a pig) and then invoke him. When you hear a squeal or see a vision of a flying green pig wearing a golden chain then you're successful. Ask him to bring you the exact amount of money you need and when you need it.

3) Bling loves food. Toast your food to Bling (Ex. "I toast this bag of potato chips to Bling-Bling the magical flying green pig!") then eat it. When you hear a squeal or see a vision of a flying green pig wearing a golden chain then you're successful. Ask him to bring you the exact amount of money you need and when you need it.

4) Bling admires generous people. Everytime you donate money to a charity group, mentally say "By the power of the Magical Flying Green Pig, I donate this amount of money to charity." If you hear a squeal or saw a vision of a flying green pig wearing a golden chain, well, you get the picture.

5) Use the Sigil of Bling to summon His Magical Pigginess.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Remember to thank him after every request. Hey, even magical pigs want respect. If mistreated or disrespected, Bling-Bling will not help unless the offender donates some money to charity in his name.

Slacker Mage Paradigm (as seen in occultforums.com)

Change of name! I now call it the Slacker Mage Paradigm (SMP). Why? Because it sounds cooler than Lazy Mage Paradigm.

I've just added the concept of "constructive laziness" as a main component of the Slacker Mage Paradigm. This is the good kind of laziness.

Reference:

Quote:
Slacker

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

For the Richard Linklater movie, see Slacker (movie)

The term slacker, in contemporary western culture, applies generally to young people who underachieve at school, work or both.

The term was commonly used in the United States in World War I and World War II to describe men who were avoiding the military draft. But in the 90's it specifically refers to a variety of tendencies in the young generation—a use popularized by Linklater's movie Slacker. A typical slacker is characterized by a static, unenthusiastic air manifesting in an apparent lack of effort. This lack of motivation is usually represented as a status of unemployment or only minor employment in the service industry.

[edit]

The Slacker Defense

To other people, it may appear that slackers do not do very much actual work, schoolwork, or much of anything. However, individuals considered to be slackers may in fact be very active, though not always in activities that society deems to be most important, (such as surfing the Internet instead of getting a job). One of the definitions of slacker is "people who are good at doing what is important to them."

Contrary to what some may believe, in some disciplines laziness is a virtue (especially constructive laziness). To paraphrase Sun Tzu, "When the superior man refrains from acting, his force is felt for a thousand li (576km / 357.9mi)." This quote epitomizes the philosophy of the slacker. Another maxim that typifies the slacker is "Do not reinvent the wheel." For example, in computer programming, it often is easier to re-use previously written code than coming up with a new implementation of some algorithm.

Apart from meaning lazy, slacker may also be used to insinuate habitual procrastination and a disorganized, slovenly lifestyle. Proponents of slacker theory assert that managing to survive by doing things at the last possible moment improves intellect as a compensatory way to cope, fashioning a wily yet lazy person. Similarly, a disorganized lifestyle may be superior to an organized one from the pragmatic perspective that a slacker will adapt to disorderliness by improving skills at memorization and at effortlessly rummaging, whereas actively organizing would require serious effort. Hence, the epithet slacker, while often used in the pejorative, is growingly signifying a complimentary, cerebral quality of an unconventional person. For another example of a bimodally pejorative and affectionate term, see hacker. There is also a slight overlap among slacker culture, stoner culture, and hippie culture insofar as they all are implying a disheveled appearance; however, many slackers are straight edge, and their relative apathy precludes their involvement in any hippie movement.

The Lazy Mage Paradigm (as posted in Occultforums.com)

I'm disillusioned with the hard work formula for success so I adopted what I call The Lazy Mage paradigm. Sure I would still work but not as hard as before. Heck I would even take breaks and lounge around more often. As long as I practice my magick, I'll definitely become a big success without working hard. Oppurtunities will come in my way.

Most of my practices involve simple yet effective techniques (visualization, energy-work, psychism etc). No sophisticated rituals because that's too much of a hassle for me. Furthermore, one of the main reasons why I created this paradigm is because I've done some research in the past about success and wealth through mystical and psychical means without breaking a sweat. Yes I know it sounds too good to be true but hey, as long as it works, cool.

My practices are more focused on basically everything that is beneficial for me (prosperity, insight, happiness and self-empowerment, you get the picture). Another highlight is the ability to spot oppurtunities. It's true (at least for me) that oppurtunities are everywhere. You just have to develop some kind of sixth sense for them.

Synchronicity also plays a major role here. Sometimes, divinations just won't do. "Signs" and "omens" appear at unexpected times to guide me whenever I ask myself in silent contemplation. Daydreaming also plays a role because it's really a mild, passive form of creative visualization. In my experience, I often I would daydream that I'm some popular bigshot and then people would start noticing me... and I'm not even that rich, handsome and smart!

And that's just the surface of the Lazy Mage paradigm. I'll explain more on this next time. All that typing is making me tired.

On my tarot

Currently, I'm using a Rider Waite tarot deck. I'm proud to be an owner of one of these classic babies. I only started tarot last month but I'm now good at it. I may be a newbie to tarot but I'm already experienced in divination. I'm especially good at stichomancy (divination with books) but that's a different story for another time. Anyway, I'm getting better at tarot but I never use reversals. I don't believe in reversals and besides there are other readers who don't interpret reversals. My choice of spreads are the Three Card Spread, the X Formation Spread and the classic Celtic Cross Spread. I often use the X Formation Spread on a daily basis.

My favorite card is The Magician because I want to be a master manipulator of my environment. For me, the Magician card doesn't just mean a practitioner of the mystic arts, it also denotes a cunning manipulator with great potential to do good or evil or even both or neither. The Magician is also a wise and charismatic fellow who often has followers or at least gains attention most of the time. When he talks, people listen. On the other hand, he could be a conman who sweet talks his way into anything and uses his intellect for he wrong reasons. On the other hand, "right" and "wrong" may depend on the intent so who are we to judge the Magician? Ah whatever.

Gotta catch some Z's in a while.

Filipino Magickal Revolution

I'm tired of the political bullshit in my country. It's time for me to initiate what I call a magickal revolution. It's time that a magick practitioner like me put my abilities to use.

It's time for a magickal revolution my friends... for a better Philippines!
